As a series of the investigation of medicinal resources in plant, the studies were carried out to evaluate the phenolic compounds in the aerial part of Symplocarpus renifolius. From the MeOH extract, we reported four flavonoids glycpside (quercetin-3-O-[¥â-D-glucopyransoy-(1-2)-¥â-glucopyrnaosyl]-7-O-D-glusopyranoside, kaempferol-3-O-[¥â-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-2)-¥â-D-glucopyranosyl]-7-O-¥â-D-glucopyranoside, quercetin-3-O-¥â-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-2)-¥â-D-glucopyranoside, quercetin-3-O[¥â-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-2)-¥â-D-glucopyranosyl]-7O-(2-O-caffeoyl]¥â-D-glucopyranoside) and continuously have been isolated one flavonol glycoside and one phenylpropanoid from the same plant. From the water fraction of the MeOH extract, Compound I(isorhamnetin-3-O-[¥â-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-2)-¥â-D-glucopyranosyl]-7-O-¥â-D-glucopyranoside) and compound II(caffeic acid) were isolated by column chromatographic separation using Amberlite XAD-2, ODS-gel, Prep. LC and Sephadex LH-20, and elucidated physico-chemical evidence (©öH-NMR, ^(13)C-NMR, IR, EI-Mass, FAB-Mass, UV, Enzymetic hydrolysis and G.C.).
